As part of our Numeracy study of 2-D shapes last week, the P7A pupils were able to link this learning with the infamous abstract art of Russian artist, Wassily Kandinsky. They managed to study many of Kandinsky’s mathematical masterpieces, such as the ‘Red Spot’, for instance. This creative inspiration allowed them to design their own colourful versions of Kandinsky’s circles for their personal scrapbooks. We also studied the unparalleled works of Vincent Van Gogh in art class, resulting in many beautiful imitations of 'Starry Night' and the 'Sunflower.'
