Notices for week beginning Monday December 11th 2017
Many thanks to all our Nursery parents and children who came along to our Open Day on Friday - the children in Foundation Stage loved having the little ones come and visit!
Can I ask everyone to remind friends and family about the deadlines for Nursery and P1 applications which is 12pm on Wednesday January 10th. We must stick to these deadlines rigidly and year on year parents miss out, even by a couple of hours. Any application received after 12pm on that date is marked late and in relation to nursery places, it is then not even considered until Stage Two of the process in April. I'm sure you'll agree it is better to get the forms in early. As our children do not return to school until Tuesday January 9th please return before the Christmas holidays to be on the safe side.
Our fundraising for St Vincent de Paul is going very well. So far, over £100 was raised when our learning support assistants put on a lunch for the teachers- it was lovely!!! The raffle tickets are selling well and our P5s had their cinema day on Friday and raised £71.30 from that alone! This Friday, December 15th, we will have our whole school non uniform day and each class will decide for themselves what theme, if any, they wish to follow eg. mad hair/Christmas/ PJs etc Our P7s are holding their cake sale on Friday and we will also find out our raffle winners. We hope to be able to pass on a cheque to SVDP on Monday December 18th.
This week our Nursery children will be holding their Nativity on Tuesday at 10am and the P1s on Wednesday at the same time. Our P5,6 and 7 children will be holding their Carol Service, "The Gift" on Thursday night at 7pm.
Our P1 children will be joining their friends in Ebrington on Tuesday for a story telling session in Waterside Library. P1/2 are off to Santa's Kingdom on Thursday and Nursery do likewise on Friday. All in all, a busy week ahead!
This week will complete our second 6 week programme of after school clubs. KS2 Drama and netball will not be taking place due to the chairs and staging in the hall and choir will also NOT be on as the children are exhausted singing at the stage! Cookery, Ipad and Drama for KS1 children will be on as well as ICT, football and swimming for KS2. Clubs will resume in the week beginning Monday January 15th but we will remind you of the details nearer the time.
Staff are continually updating our website with photos of events taking place in the school so be sure to check them out!
Until next Sunday.....
