Notices for the week beginning Monday May 28th 2018
THE SCHOOL WILL BE CLOSED TOMORROW MONDAY MAY 28TH AND TUESDAY MAY 29TH. We will welcome all the children back on Wednesday May 30th.
Clubs
There is only one club this week which is Circus Skills on Thursday and this is the last week of it. Drama and Tin Whistle will take place between 2 and 3pm this Wednesday when the children will perform for the school so they will be finished at 3pm and also finished for the year. The only club remaining after Thursday will be swimming as the Schools' Gala is taking place on Wednesday June 6th straight after school at 3pm. We will send out more details to parents of entrants this week.
Sports Day 2018
We hope to have our Sports Day this Thursday May 31st, weather permitting. The forecast looks good at the moment but you never know! We will keep everyone informed by text message. As usual we will have P1-4 events in the morning and P5,6,7 in the afternoon. We will be running the event from St Cecilia's Sports Field and the school canteen will be serving refreshments. WE WOULD ASK ALL PARENTS TO STAY OFF THE FIELD. THIS IS RESERVED FOR CHILDREN AND STAFF ONLY. Should we have to cancel, the next date pencilled in is Monday June 4th. It will not run on Friday June 1st due to a number of other events taking place on that date.
Summer Show
We will be sending out information about buying tickets for the summer show soon. As you will see from the school calendar, this takes place on Wednesday June 20th and Thursday June 21st. As usual, the P7s, as our Leavers, will get the opportunity to buy tickets just one day in advance of other year groups and there will be a limit of 4 per family as a starting point.
Questionnaires
We have now sent out the questionnaires for feedback on the school to every parent. We would really appreciate having all returned by this Friday June 1st.
Upcoming Events
Nursery Children to Lurgy Brack Farm on Friday June 1st
P4 children on Bug Hunt at Creggan Country Park on Friday June 1st
Cake Sale
Many thanks to all the parents and friends of Holy Child who attended our cake sale on Friday morning in the Nursery Unit. It was a fabulous success, due in no small part to the wonderful weather. This cake sale was to raise funds for the Creggan Men's Shed who have given so much time and effort in recent weeks into making the school grounds, not only look good, but also a wonderland for the kids to explore and make believe. We will let you know how much we raised next week.
That's all the news for this week. Please visit calendar page every week for further events/times. This is updated every week.
Many thanks
