Notices for the week beginning Monday February 26th 2018
Club News
Most clubs will be operating on normal days including art and craft which will take place on Tuesday again. However, there will be no Thursday netball in this coming week as there is a match taking place away from home. Due to the P7 Gortatole residential taking place the following week, the next session will be on Thursday, March 15th.
P4 should note that the Sacrament of Penance will be taking place on Tuesday March 27th (Holy Week) at 6pm. The next Do This in Memory of Me Mass takes place next Sunday, March 4th 2018.
Our P6 children will attending the annual YES workshops on Tuesday February 27th in Long Tower Youth Club. The services delivering this Youth Educated in Safety Programme are: the council community safety wardens, Home safety,Dog warden, Foyle Search and Rescue, Anti-bullying Forum,Fire service, Internet Safety Group, Good Relations Service and a group working on Mindfulness.
At 5.15pm on the same date, Tuesday February 27th, there will be a short meeting in the hall for P6 parents to outline the transfer process for all children moving into secondary school in September 2019.
This Thursday, March 1st, is World Book Day. A letter went home to all parents this week, to say that the children are welcome to dress up as a character but this is only for fun and no one should be going to any expense for this event. The weather forecast for the week ahead suggests we are in for a very cold spell. As per usual I will communicate with parents through text message and this website. If for example you do not receive a text today telling you that these notices are live, then you are not on the system so please phone the school tomorrow and check to what number we are sending texts.
Finally, congratulations everyone! We raised £673 for the Children's Cancer Unit on our non uniform day which is an incredible amount of money. We will be arranging to hand over a cheque soon and will post the photo on our website. The staff and children have already turned their attention to raising money now for Trocaire and keeping our Lenten promises. Our big initiative in the school is to say Please, Thank You and Sorry more often!
Thanks for now
