Catholic Schools Week P5DOD
The children in Primary 5 have loved completing a variety of activities for Catholic Schools Week 25: Alive in Christ.
On Monday we explored how Catholic Schools should always be a kind and happy place for everyone. We explored the story of Zacchaeus, and learned how the story teaches us that Jesus saw goodness in everyone. During the lesson we discussed what it meant to be a good friend.
'In a world where you can be anything, be kind'
On Tuesday we learnt what it means to be part of a parish and our role within our community. We used our ICT skills to research St Mary's Church.
On Wednesday we celebrated the special love we have for our Grandparents. We welcomed them to a special mass in St Mary's, followed by afternoon tea.
On Thursday we learnt about how God's love is great, how he rejoices when someone returns to him and how in God's eyes everyone is equal. We read the parable of the 'Loving Father' Luke 15:11-32. We then wrote the parable in our own words along with some artwork.
We would like to thank everyone who helped us celebrate this special week, our grandparents, Father Mc Faul, Father Gerry, our school choir, parents and all of the school community.
