π Chinese Workshop Day π
Weβre thrilled to share the highlights from our Chinese Workshop Day in collaboration with the Confucius Institute! A heartfelt thank you goes out to the talented Chinese performers who mesmerised us with their face-changing opera and graceful water sleeves dance, two captivating forms of traditional Chinese art that showcase the rich heritage and storytelling traditions of China. π
Our P4, P5, and P6 students had an absolutely fantastic time immersing themselves in Chinese culture! They engaged in a variety of hands-on activities designed to deepen their understanding and appreciation of this vibrant culture, including:
- Jianzi (a little trickier than Noah made it look! π)
- Blowing ink painting π¨, where students explored the beauty of Chinese calligraphy and artistic expression.
- Ribbon dancing π, a graceful and visually stunning art form that has been part of Chinese culture for centuries.
- Spinning red handkerchief challenges, a fun way to learn about traditional Chinese celebrations and symbolism!
Through these activities, our students not only had fun but also gained insight into the significance of movement, colour, and art in Chinese culture. It was a day filled with laughter, learning, and creativity!
We are grateful for the opportunity to explore such a rich heritage and hope our students take these experiences with them as lifelong memories.
