Notices for week beginning Monday October 23rd 2017

22nd Oct 2017

  • It’s the final week before half term holidays in October and that can only mean one thing- HALLOWEEN FANCY DRESS!! Everyone is looking forward to this annual extravaganza which is always a whole world of fun and laughter. We will text out our starting time mid- week. We will also continue our new system of mixing up the running order of classes. Yes, this is our way of trying to make sure the audience stays from start to finish! There’s nothing more demoralising for our P7s than to be last up and have no one left in the hall to see their efforts. Also, I hope everyone will be kind to our judges! I know I would hate to have the job of picking winners from the amazing outfits we see every year!
  • Of course the Fancy Dress is also our one and only fundraiser of the year so we appreciate the generous sponsorship support given every year. The added incentive this year is that the children will be given at least half of all the money raised to buy equipment for playtimes! We would really, really be grateful if the money could be with us by Tuesday/Wednesday of this week.
  • Clubs Monday to Thursday will be running as normal this week.
  • Swimming club will take place on Tuesday but there will be no lessons on Thursday for P5&6 as we have arranged for a travelling Theatre Company, M&M Productions to visit the school and put on the show, “Beauty and the Beast” as an end of half term treat.
  • I hope every family has received a leaflet regarding the Christmas Shoe Box appeal. I know I spent yesterday covering my box with Christmas paper and getting my first few items at my weekly shop. If any family is unable to participate in this initiative I would be grateful if you could return the leaflet as we did not have enough to give to all staff as well. The date to have your boxes returned to the school is Monday November 20th –plenty of time!
  • This Wednesday, October 25th, County Photos will be visiting the school to take photographs of our Nursery and P1 children. They will also take family photographs.
  • Hopefully everyone received the text to say the Flu Vacs will now take place on Friday November 10th
  • Please visit our Foyer this week to see the magnificent work of our Nursery Children and their parents in the Family Project – those pumpkins are works of art!!
  • Congratulations to our P4 children for fantastic attendance and behaviour at our second Do This in Memory of Me Mass this morning in St Mary’s Church!

FINALLY, PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS FRIDAY WILL BE A HALF DAY CLOSING:

NURSERY             12PM

P1-P4                    12.25PM

P5-P7                    12.30PM

THE SCHOOL WILL THEN BE CLOSED UNTIL MONDAY NOVEMBER 6TH! ENJOY THE HOLIDAYS!
