Holy Child Primary School, Derry

Notices for the week beginning December 18th 2017

15th Dec 2017

What a busy week it has been! Our Nursery, P1 and KS2 Nativity Plays are over for another year, and each and every one was really wonderful! Congratulations to all the children and staff involved.

The fundraising for St Vincent de Paul was completed on Friday with our raffles, a non uniform day and an amazing Cake Sale held by our P7 children. The atmosphere in the hall for this was terrific! We have invited our local SVDP representatives to come along to our assembly on Wednesday to collect a cheque. We will reveal the total next week but suffice to say, our Holy Child community should, once again, feel very proud of the care they show to others.

This week try and come along and hear our choir sing in the Rathmor on Monday at 2pm and of course our P2 Nativity takes place on Tuesday. Our friends from Ebrington will join us for this.

The Christmas Big Bedtime Read takes place in the Nursery on Monday at 5.30 - that's sure to be fun!

Thursday is a half day. PLEASE DO SEND YOUR CHILDREN TO SCHOOL as extensive absence brings down the overall attendance figure for the whole school. It will be a fun morning and of course it will be a non uniform day. The Nursery children will be released at 12pm, P1-4 at 12.25 and the rest of the school at 12.30. The first day back for the children will be Tuesday January 9th.

Please note there will be NO clubs this week except for Kids Club which will finish up on Wednesday December 20th.

Finally, the Foyle Hospice has been in touch to find out if any of our P6 and 7 children wish to take part in their Strictly Fundraiser this year. Rehearsals take place every Sunday, will begin in January and the event takes place in April 2018. The children have been told to discuss with parents and if a couple are agreed, to come and give me the details asap. I would like to email names and parent details to the Hospice by Thursday this week.

 That's it for this week,

Miss Mc Donnell
